When to come

You can go out to sea from Cancún all year, but not every month is the same.

The Atlantic hurricane season, which includes the Caribbean, runs from June 1 to November 30, according to the US National Hurricane Center. It doesn't mean it rains the whole time: it's the window in which storms can form.

Sargassum changes from one year to the next and from one beach to another. Quintana Roo's environment ministry and the Mexican Navy each publish an alert map: check it a few days before you travel.

And from May 15 to September 17 it's whale shark season.

What you see from Cancún

Isla Mujeres sits right across from Cancún, 20 to 30 minutes away by ferry. Cozumel is further south, off Playa del Carmen. And between Cancún and Isla Mujeres, on the seabed, is MUSA, with more than 500 sculptures. At Punta Sur, the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, are the remains of the temple of Ixchel.

Summer: whale sharks

It's the largest fish in the sea, and every summer it comes to feed in the waters between Isla Mujeres, Contoy and Holbox. You swim with it only with an authorized operator and under clear rules.

What to celebrate at sea

Birthdays, bachelorettes, anniversaries or a day with friends. The size of the group decides the yacht, and what you celebrate decides the extras: DJ, open bar, chef and water toys.

A private day

The yacht and crew are yours alone. You don't share with anyone else. Already on board:

  • Professional crew
  • Towels and life jackets
  • Water, soft drinks and beer
  • Ice
  • Snacks, except on the Four Winns 26'

Chef on board, open bar, DJ, SeaBob and water toys are extras confirmed in your proposal.

Caring for the sea

The sea between Cancún and Isla Mujeres is a national park. Only biodegradable sunscreen is allowed, and the coral is never touched or stood on.
